In this newly created and dynamic role the post-holder will work closely with the Head of Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs and the Policy and Public Affairs manager to deliver the charity's long-term policy and influencing strategy, and wider activities. The Campaigns and Engagement manager will be key in developing and delivering the charity’s work to influence policy and strategy at a national, local and devolved level; through leading on the strategy, planning and implementation of the charity’s major influencing campaigns. Overseeing and managing a dynamic and passionate network of campaign supporters, the role will empower those affected by dementia to be effective and powerful advocates for changes in health and care support across the UK. The role will also directly line manage and provide leadership to the campaigns and engagement officer.

Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the organisation has clear campaign theories of change and campaign objectives
- To develop and deliver effective and innovative campaign strategies for the charity to secure improvements to legislation, public policies and statutory services on behalf of people living with dementia, their families and carers
- To oversee and lead evaluation and monitoring of campaign activity
- To develop and implement a campaign supporter mobilisation strategy, including a ladder of engagement, an approach to retention and development of campaigners, involvement opportunities in charity’s policy, public affairs and campaigns activity; and clear opportunities to empower people affected by dementia to influence policy directly and tangibly.
Candidate:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within policy, campaigns and public affairs or related disciplines
- Proven track record in delivering successful policy influencing initiatives and campaigns
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience of evaluating campaigning activity
- Demonstrable experience of successful supporter management, and developing supporter engagement strategies
- Knowledge and experience of digital campaigning techniques
- Demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Resourceful and tenacious in seeking positive change
- Ability to work in collaboration, negotiating and influencing with stakeholders and building relationships.
