​Role:

Fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team passionate about changing the life-chances of disadvantaged young people and their families. 

​
In this role you will:
​
  • Share (as a member of the SMT) responsibility for the strategic direction, leadership, operational management and funding of the organisation
  • Lead and manage the policy and advocacy team including strategic development, fundraising and programme planning
  • Develop and manage a programme of external and internal communications and develop the organisation’s campaigning and lobbying strategy as well as leading on messaging and news management
  • Define and implement an impact assessment programme and work closely with the SMT to secure ongoing finances and resources to support policy and advocacy activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key figures in government, academia, public and charity sectors, the support of which is vital to the successful delivery of the organisation’s programmes.
​Candidate:
​
  • Demonstrable and successful senior management experience of delivering programmes and projects in a relevant social policy or rights area
  • Strong experience in delivering communications strategies and developing and implementing public campaigns and policy communications
  • Persuasive and influential, ability to demonstrate commitment to the organisation’s aims and objectives and work collaboratively as a member of the SMT
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, ability to work effectively with members of the press, identify and prepare funding proposals and understand and meet the needs of the organisation’s stakeholders
  • Developed leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate staff and manage professional development pathways.
