Role:

In this role you will:
- Lead the communications activities of a specific campaign including; creating and managing the creation of compelling and engaging content, managing external consultants, creating and running social media adverts
- Generate positive media coverage for the organisation by seeking out and developing story ideas, building relationships with journalists and pitching stories
- Provide communications support for a specific six-week Summer event including; generating content to promote the event including high profile speakers, providing briefing support during the event for external visitors and managing an agency to create a film
- Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the team including; management of channels (website, social media, digital newsletters) and supporting engagement with officials, politicians and funders.
Candidate:
- Significant experience of communications work, including leading projects
- Experience of communications strategy/planning, including audience analysis, message development, content planning and scheduling
- Demonstrable experience of generating positive media coverage, good knowledge of UK media environment and building relationships with journalists
- Experience of digital communications including maintaining and updating websites and building social media communities
- Excellent written skills, able to draft communications that reach out to a range of diverse audiences.
