We are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a highly regarded, values driven charity tackling the inequalities that exist in older age. Our client is an established brand within the sector with a clear mission to address the key issues facing us as we grow older. They do this by providing free impartial information and advice and work within communities to connect people, places and services to reduce isolation and loneliness. They also act as a catalyst for positive policy change by challenging the underlying causes of discrimination and inequality.  
​Role:

This is an exciting time to join the charity as the team transitions to a new ambitious strategy for 2021-2023. This newly created, strategic role represents a unique opportunity to help transform their Marketing and Communications activities – lead the work to build their reputation, raise their profile, expand their community of support; and help them challenge ageism and inequality.

In this role you will:

  • ​Work closely with the Director of Policy and Communications to lead the development and implementation of the charity’s corporate marketing and communications strategies
  • Lead on the development and implementation of the charity’s brand
  • Develop and deliver a profile-raising strategy to ensure a proactive approach to raising awareness of the charity’s activities across all external media channels
  • Lead the development of, and maximise engagement with, owned channels, including websites, social media and corporate publications  
  • Lead and advise on major cross-directorate marketing and communications initiatives
  • Represent the charity externally (via media channels, advisory groups, speaking at conferences)
  • Lead a high-performing dedicated team of 15 staff with 4 direct reports.
​Candidate:​
​
​​​
  • Substantial experience of developing and implementing innovative and successful marketing and communications strategies
  • Significant experience in leading and developing marketing and communications teams (ideally 10 or more staff)
  • A proven track record of initiating and delivering marketing and communications in a non-profit or B2C environment, including utilising owned and paid for media, that have built understanding, awareness and engagement
  • Proven success in growing a brand, and raising the profile of an organisation using a variety of marketing and communications techniques
  • Experience of working in a senior management team to develop, communicate and implement business plans
  • Demonstrable passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause and aims.
