In this newly created role you will:
- Initiate, develop and lead a policy and public affairs function including strategy, operational plan and income streams for new policy work
- Provide leadership in helping to shape debate in key higher education policy areas and to influence the formulation and implementation of policy relating to higher education
- Identify key policy priority areas across the organisation and ensure all policy work is delivered to a high standard including policy products, events, networks and forums
- Raise the profile of the organisation and its members through government relations work and political engagement activities (seminars, conferences)
- Be a member of the Senior Management Team and contribute to the overall strategic plan.
Candidate:
- Educated to degree level (Masters in international development or politics desirable)
- Strong understanding of current issues within higher education in developing countries and of the policy landscape regarding higher education across the globe
- Proven experience of influencing the formation of higher education policy at an institutional, national or inter-governmental level
- Experience of leading and managing a team influencing activity across an organisation
- Exceptional written, verbal and inter-personal skills with the ability to present at a senior level
- Excellent networking, negotiation and influencing skills.
