Head of Policy and Delivery

Central London
£65,400 per annum (including London weighting)
Full time, 14 month maternity cover contract, commencing early August
Secondments also considered on existing terms

​Role:

In this role you will:
​

• Act as a senior expert on NHS commissioning policy, leading the strategic and organisational development of the organisations’ externally focused policy programme
• Devise, manage, deliver and evaluate proactive elements of the policy programme including, thought leadership, reactive policy work and identified priority work
• Deputise for the Chief Executive as appropriate, taking a lead on policy and operational issues, and speaking on their behalf where necessary
• Lead and co-design the annual business planning process for the organisation, which includes setting objectives and financial planning with the Chief Executive and Board
• Provide effective leadership and line management including performance management reviews and supporting learning and development opportunities for the team.

​Candidate:
​

• Proven and extensive experience of the NHS and of Commissioning and CCG policy specifically
• Extensive experience in policy development and design at a national level and proven ability to influence at a senior level
• Demonstrable experience as a senior manager within a senior management team and ability to deputise for senior colleagues (Chief Executive and other Directors)
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships
• Ability to advise and influence internally and externally at senior level to lead and develop work programmes and proven experience of accountability for teams, budgets and programmes.
