​Role:

In this role you will:
​
  • ​Lead the development and implementation of the charity’s Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns strategy
  • Drive campaigns and influencing that influence public opinion and change policy across governments and health provision, to improve the lives of young people with cancer
  • Establish and maintain a strategic overview of policy relation to young adults with cancer across the UK and lead their influential stakeholder management
  • Advise on policy and public affairs developments UK-wide relevant to young people with cancer and their families
  • Work with the senior leadership team to develop the charity’s approach to integrated public influencing campaigns
  • Lead on the policy and public affairs aspects of campaigns delivery as part of wider influencing leadership
  • Be an effective leader and manager of the team and a credible and authoritative representative of the charity at meetings, events and in the media.

​Candidate:​
​​
  • Significant experience in policy and public affairs and an in depth of knowledge of health policy relating to cancer
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement particularly with government departments, politicians and policy makers across the four nations
  • Substantial senior-level influencing and public campaigning experience including driving integrated mobilisation campaigns
  • Experience of acting as a spokesperson on policy issues in national groups and with the media
  • Significant successful leadership and management experience and ability to develop a team
  • A passion and commitment to young people affected by cancer and their families. ​
