Roles:
One role will lead and support our client’s work in relation to Progression to Higher Education, with interests covering both home and international issues. This is a broad role, covering areas of pre-HE policy, including qualification reform and accountability measures, to specific home-based policy matters impacting progression to HE, including the outcomes of the Augar review, Teaching Excellence Framework and devolution. Furthermore, this role will also play a key role in shaping the organisation's international policy work, encapsulating the International Education Strategy, Turing Scheme and student immigration, working closely with their International team.
The other role will focus on Further Education, Apprenticeships and Skills.
In these roles you will:

In these roles you will:
- Develop a deep understanding of the areas mentioned above, providing high quality and timely internal briefings on developments within these topics
- Support the development of the organisation’s position and public narrative regarding these areas
- Highlight, understand, and support mitigations against any reputational risks in relation to both areas
- Support the development of a stakeholder engagement plan, and own stakeholders’ relationships at an appropriate level
- Support both the public affairs and strategy leads to deliver effectively on their responsibilities
- Deputise for the Head of Policy as required.
Candidate:
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a policy function either within third sector or government
- Experience of supporting the production of high-quality policy and research outputs
- Reasonable understanding of the issues relating to progression to HE within the UK and ideally internationally and/or FE, Apprenticeships and Skills
- Experience and confidence in independently engaging external and internal stakeholders
- Knowledge of how to influence and deliver national policy change.
