Policy Adviser – FE, Skills, Apprenticeships

​​​​​​Remote working with some travel
up to £30,000 per annum
Full time, permanent

​Role:

In this role you will:
​
  • ​​Develop a deep understanding of the FE, skills and apprenticeships landscape, providing high quality and timely internal briefings on developments
  • Support the development of the organisations’ position and public narrative regarding FE, skills and apprenticeships through relevant outputs
  • Highlight, understand, and support mitigations against any reputational risks in relation to FE, skills and apprenticeships
  • Support the development of a stakeholder engagement plan, and own stakeholders’ relationships at an appropriate level
  • Support both the public affairs and strategy leads to deliver effectively on their responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Senior Policy Manager as required.
​Candidate:​
​
  • ​Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a policy function either within third sector or government
  • ​​Experience of supporting the production of high-quality policy and research outputs
  • Understanding of the FE and Skills sector, with an appreciation of the pertinent policy issues that impact on this sector
  • Experience and confidence in independently engaging external and internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how to influence and deliver national policy change.
