In this newly created role you will:
- Provide research and policy support within the international policy arena including; work to capture the sector’s international reach; gather intelligence to inform in-country engagement strategies; prepare briefing papers, presentations and speeches for the CEO and other senior staff and stakeholders
- Work closely with external stakeholders and policy influencers both in the UK and abroad, including officials in UK and overseas governments and higher education sectors, to influence policy developments
- Write engaging copy for public communications platforms, including website and newsletters and work with the Communications team to ensure the organisation’s work is effectively communicated to its main stakeholders through the appropriate media
- Support the Interim Head of Communications with advice, information and executive action
- Draft correspondence, briefings, papers and reports, surveys and consultative work ensuring a consistently high quality of presentation and accuracy.
Candidate:
- Educated to degree level (first or 2:1) and at least one years’ paid work experience in a policy or research role, ideally within a higher education or international research organisation
- Ambitious, curious and methodical. Ability to conduct research using appropriate and consistent methodology
- Ability to develop and build relationships with colleagues and senior officials across government and other organisations to source information
- Confident self-starter, ability to grasp concepts quickly, run with projects and delivers to tight deadlines.
