Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious team working with 70 member organisations to protect and enhance wildlife, landscape and the marine environment. You’ll play a prominent role in policy development and advocate agreed environmental policy messages to Government, civil service and Parliamentarians. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will focus on land management, agriculture and chemicals and be responsible for producing written briefings, policy analysis and research in support of the sector’s policy development goals.

Candidate:
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated early-career policy professional with a commitment to environmental improvement, public access to nature and animal welfare. This role would suit someone who is currently a policy assistant or officer within a charity or campaigning organisation or a parliamentary assistant.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to demonstrate the following:

To be successful in this role you’ll need to demonstrate the following:
- An understanding and ideally experience of working with Government, Whitehall and interacting with policy and key decision-makers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Good aptitude for coalition building and diplomacy
- Excellent organisation skills or proven project management skills
- (Desirable) Knowledge of environmental policy (particularly food and farming; and/or chemicals management).
