In this role you will:
- Develop and oversee the delivery of the organisation’s public affairs strategy, in line with the overall strategy and be responsible for KPIs relating to its success
- Manage the Public Affairs team to deliver its strategy and work with other teams to ensure the strategy has national and local components
- Ensure that the beneficiaries are at the heart of all engagement work and manage relationships with stakeholders inside and outside parliament
- Actively identify opportunities to put issues affecting the beneficiaries on the political and public policy agenda
- Internally liaise at all levels throughout the organisation, being an ambassador for public affairs work and supporting senior colleagues to engage with decision makers
- Line-manage the Public Affairs Officer.
Candidate:
- Excellent knowledge of the political system, parliamentary structures, health and social care landscape and ways in which to influence
- Significant experience in devising and managing well focused activities and events to achieve agreed public affairs objectives
- Able to establish priorities and manage a complex workload in order to meet tight deadlines
- Experience representing an organisation externally on influential expert groups, seminars and conferences
- Experience of managing and supporting a team
