Role:
In this role you will:
In this role you will:
- Develop and implement a strategy to build support for the charity and the interests of autistic people and their families in parliament
- Build and manage relationships with Parliamentarians and other key contacts, cultivating high level supporters and promoting awareness
- Provide the secretariat to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Autism.
- Devise and deliver the charity’s activity at the party political conferences
- Write briefings and speeches for Parliamentarians, high profile supporters and senior management
- Work with the Policy and Parliamentary Officers to advance the profile of autism and the charity through activity in Parliament.
Candidate:
- Intellectual ability to grasp complex policy issues and communicate these issues to diverse audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of central and local government structures
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy context
- Relevant paid experience in policy or parliamentary work, working at national government level
- Experience of working with a range of different high-level stakeholders, including parliamentarians.
