Role:
The Research and Evaluation Manager role sits within Insight and Evaluation team, reporting into the Senior Manager – Insight & Evaluation. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide evidence to inform policy recommendations in line with their mission to address the climate emergency. You will have a chance to work with a team with more than 20+ years of experience of research and evaluation. With an expanding area of work, this is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team working on new and existing evaluation and research projects.
As a research expert, with experience of market research and evaluation techniques, you will manage evaluation projects to deliver evidence to identify and quantify emission savings and recommendations for programme improvements. You will develop and implement work plans to evaluate programmes that the organisation delivers on behalf of their commercial and government clients. You will also contribute to business development proposals.
Your ability to plan and prioritise work is essential in this busy environment, along with demonstrated effective communication skills enabling you to deliver a high standard of customer service to people at different levels. You will also manage junior members of the team (1-2 people).

Candidate:
- Demonstrable experience of working within evaluation/research
- Project management skills – experience of managing multiple projects for internal or external clients
- Knowledge and experience of using evaluation and research techniques at a high calibre, including logic models, various types of sampling, data collection, a bank of analytical techniques, statistical tests, and other research tools
- Experience of designing appropriate evaluation or research methodologies which cover various types of quantitative and qualitative data
- A track record of dealing with large and complex databases spanning many tables using sophisticated data management and process automation tools such as SQL
- Analytical and numerical skills including use of Excel and R or SPSS as well as business intelligence
- software for visual data analysis and presentation (e.g. Power BI)
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and good presentation skills
- Proven ability to deliver to timescales.
