Role:
Our client is recruiting two newly created Portfolio Development posts to provide thought-leadership on two key areas of research within education:
Pathways from education to employment and social mobility
School funding and accountability (UK)
In these roles you will:
Importantly you’ll have the freedom to expand your understanding of the key issues and interests of decision makers and practitioners within your portfolio area. You’ll become the foundation’s expert with a detailed understanding of the available data sources and evidence, and how this can be exploited to address arising issues and fill pressing evidence gaps.

In these roles you will:
- Build and engage stakeholders with a portfolio of research on key topics in education that anticipates and is responsive to their needs
- Be responsible for shaping, designing and securing funding for the portfolio, as part of the Foundation’s strategy for influencing and improving children’s outcomes and supporting positive change across education systems
- Be responsible for strategic planning across the portfolio, for building up existing areas of expertise, and for opening up new areas of business, through the creation of, championing and driving forward new development opportunities.

Candidate:
- Educated to at least Masters level in a economics or similar field or with relevant work experience
- Experience of developing an existing or new area of business and achieving strong outcomes
- Have a strong background in research with a particular focus on quantitative methodologies and comfortable with data, statistics and other evidence
- A strong communicator with experience of working with senior stakeholders and building relationships
- A strategic, creative and innovative thinker.
