In this role you will:
- Work closely with internal colleagues and external partners and academics, to lead on the delivery of assigned projects and programmes of work through appropriate scoping and design activities, and the commissioning and management of research and evaluation projects
- Ensure research awards and commissioned research and evaluation studies are of the highest possible quality, relevance and value for money, based on a deep knowledge of up to date research methods and practices
- Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, academics and partners, drawing on their own content knowledge and expertise in support of the objectives across both teams
- Provide expert support to the whole organisation and other external agencies to understand and develop key research questions, offering high quality strategic advice to support the design, delivery, commissioning and mobilisation of research where required
- Proactively manage relationships and communication with internal and external colleagues, leading on discussion about the role of research in the delivery of strategic priorities, and contributing to discussions in relation to innovative approaches to supporting both the commissioning of research and its mobilisation into policy or practice.
Candidate:
- Educated to degree level with significant research skills component (at grade 2:1 or above) or relevant postgraduate degree in a quantitative subject
- Experience of programme management to support the delivery of multiple strands of work. Knowledge of PRINCE2 or AGILE methods is desirable but not essential
- Experience in disseminating findings to policy and practice audiences, through written papers or reports and giving presentations
- Knowledge of research theory and methods in practice, including an understanding of mixed method approaches to health and social care systems research and evaluation
- Knowledge of the current issues facing the health and social care system in the UK
- Ability to communicate effectively through formal and informal means, including excellent skills in networking, oral and written communications and making presentations.
