In this role you will:
- Draft, develop and write content for proactive and reactive communications channels (e.g. website, social media, member bulletins, etc) and take a role in developing key lines and position statements by working with senior communications and policy colleagues
- Manage day-to-day press office function (including some out of hours duties)
- Maintain and develop communications processes including forward planning grid, core brief, media monitoring and press enquiry log. Also own various communications projects – product launches, event presence etc
- Have direct contact with members, stakeholders, press, offices of politicians and Government Ministers, Senior Civil Servants, Royal Colleges and other national bodies
- Develop knowledge and ability to represent the organisation at events, meeting and lead conversations to brief stakeholders and journalists on the work of the organisation.
Candidate:
- At least two years experience at officer-level covering communications and/or press and a demonstrable interest in health policy
- Excellent written skills, able to draft communications that reach out to a range of diverse audiences and the ability to present clearly complex information
- Experience of stakeholder engagement and stakeholder mapping
- Experience of maintaining and updating websites and working with e-bulletin programmes
- Strong project management skills, experience of supporting the management and delivery of projects.
