In this fantastic post you will:
- Provide high-level, strategic policy advice to the President and provide detailed policy briefings and other support in advance of key meetings
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with ministers, MPs, peers, special advisors and support staff to influence parliamentary debate, government and political party policies
- Monitor and analyse the health policy debate to identify and respond to key policy priorities in line with the College’s strategy
- Engage key stakeholders, including NHS policy bodies, College committees, think tanks, civil servants, NHS organisations, college members, doctors and trainees, partners, other stakeholders in charities and non-profits, and the wider public.
Candidate:
- Demonstrable experience working as a senior policy professional, advising elected officials or senior managers
- High degree of knowledge of public affairs and of Westminster and Whitehall procedures and protocols
- Understanding of the current health agenda in the UK and of health policy development
- Demonstrable experience of writing policy briefings, reports and presenting findings to policymakers
- Experience of translating clinical priorities and data into health policy.
