In this role you will:
- Work with the Campaigns and Policy team to secure consistent national and regional media coverage for the organisation’s campaigns and policy work
- Launch and deliver press for national and regional campaigns including parliamentary activity for all four UK nations, on health and care issues affecting supporters
- Use a wide variety of tactics to promote the charity’s activities, including securing comment and feature pieces, photocalls and sensitively identifying and communicating media case studies
- Develop strong contact with relevant national, regional and trade journalists to ensure messages can be delivered to multiple audiences
- Contribute to monitoring and analysing media coverage, overseeing daily and bimonthly staff updates and produce evaluations for media campaigns.
Candidate:
- Experience of working in a busy national press officer, ideally in the non-profit sector or as a journalist
- Experience of writing articles for publication (including case studies), setting up media interviews and planning campaigns
- Ability to produce clear and engaging audience-appropriate copy and content and within brand guide lines
- Ability to develop and implement clear and robust plans, lead people and project manage campaigns
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers and supporters and recognise the value they bring to campaigns.
